Company HI-FOOD is a young company developing and producing natural, plant - based functional ingredients and technological know-how for the Bakery, Industrial Gastronomy, plant - based and Free-From market. Acknowledged as “Innovative Start-up”, HI-FOOD is based in Parma. In the last years, HI-FOOD developed a valuable network of partners, customers and suppliers worldwide (especially Europe) with the possibility to exchange information and business opportunities within the functional food ingredients market. Big multinationals are included on the customer list, too, as well as some of the most prominent foodtech start-ups. Today HI-FOOD is based inside the Science Park of the University of Parma (Italy) and is currently building its new headquarter, a state-of-the-art manufacturing and R&D factory (6500sqm), including proprietary application pilot plants dedicated to different food technologies, opening in Q1 ‘21. Job Title Senior Food Technologist Application & Development Job Description Application of Hi-Food ingredients in the selected areas and market segments, growing market sales and the areas of application of Hi-Food products. Technical development of application projects and application assignments. Application development and technical support, achieving product approvals and commercial status. Collaborate with internal teams of R&D, customers, prospects and industrial partners. Lab activities, Field activities (at customers or pilot plants) and Study activities. Project Management Technical presentation and introduction of new ingredients in the market, communicating and sharing results internally, with customers and with the scientific community. Development of prototypes (of finished product or intermediates) to verify the functionality of the ingredients, studying the interaction of the ingredients with other ones and with other variables Contribute to the development of new ingredients providing a specific technical functionality. Ideal Personal Profile: Senior Application Food Technologist -Technical background: Food Technology and similar, with particular key focus in the Application area. -Experience in recipes, formulations and manufacturing technologies of finished product. -Experience in the food industry, especially ingredients, bakery, industrial gastronomy, meat alternatives or meat applications. -Experience with industrial processing machinery: application lab or pilot plant or production line. -Experience in managing and coordinating technical development projects between food companies. -Experience in application development, achieving product approvals and commercial status. -Experience with analytical instrumentation (e.g. texture analyzer) -Perseverance, drive and capability to motivate; methodic and relentless -Empathic and socially intelligent. -Experience in handling negotiations is a plus. Tasks and Activities -Develop sales through collaboration, technical development projects and successful case histories. -Understand the market, its dynamics, the key customers, stakeholders and decision makers. -Managing and coordinating development projects. -Support and train younger food technologists of the R&D team, by sharing information, knowledge and technical experiences. -Capability to discuss technical matters with competence to clients and partners. -Coordinate technical-commercial documentation.
